Exhibition Terms
These terms apply to CandWAG member exhibitions unless a specific exhibition notice states different terms.
Eligibility
Exhibition opportunities are normally for paid-up CandWAG members. Each exhibition may set its own entry dates, hanging fees, size limits, subject restrictions, stewarding requirements and sales arrangements.
Selection, Hanging And Display
The exhibition team or committee may decide how works are selected, arranged and displayed. CandWAG may decline or remove work that cannot be safely displayed, does not meet exhibition requirements, is submitted late, or is unsuitable for the venue.
Fees, Commission And Sales
Any hanging fees, entry fees, commission rates or sales handling arrangements should be stated for the relevant exhibition. Artists are responsible for setting accurate prices and providing the information needed to record sales and pay them after the exhibition.
Artwork, Copyright And Images
Artists retain copyright in their work. By entering an exhibition, artists confirm that the work is their own or that they have the right to exhibit it. Artists give CandWAG permission to photograph and show entered work on the website, social media, printed materials and press information for exhibition and group promotion.
Care, Loss And Insurance
CandWAG and venue volunteers will take reasonable care of submitted work, but artists remain responsible for their own artwork and should arrange insurance if needed. CandWAG is not responsible for normal wear, accidental damage, loss caused by circumstances outside its reasonable control, or damage caused by unsuitable framing, fixings or packaging.
Delivery, Collection And Stewarding
Artists must deliver and collect work at the times set for the exhibition unless the exhibition organiser agrees otherwise. Members who exhibit may be asked to help with stewarding, setup, takedown or promotion.
Payments To Artists
Where CandWAG handles sales, payments to artists will be made after sales records and takings have been checked. Any agreed commission, card charges or exhibition deductions will be applied before payment.
Public Visitors
Public exhibition information is provided in good faith. Event details, opening times and displayed work may change if venue, staffing, weather or practical circumstances require it.
